Andrew Porter


Andrew lives with his family in Portrush on the North Coast. He began his acting career at 17 years old, when he sent a letter off to Centre Stage Theatre Company looking for work experience. These two weeks turned into over a year. Touring with productions as an ASM and then as an actor. A time which he still holds dear, as the knowledge he gained was invaluable to him. 

In 2000, Andrew secured a place at Manchester Metropolitan School of Theatre and graduated in 2002. He stayed in Manchester for a further four years, working on productions of TIE, No 1 Tours, The Royal Exchange, Granada TV and The Discovery Channel, before coming home to do a Christmas Show with Centre Stage Theatre Company.

Andrew has toured extensively throughout Ireland, UK and the USA, appearing in plays such as Twelfth Night, Dancing at Lughnasa, Stones in his Pockets, What the Focal, Volpone, Cuchullain – The Hound Of Ulster, The Siege Tales, Professor Flo and the River Show, The Recruiting Officer, The Stagecoach, Derry Kirk Trilogy, The Constant Couple, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Someone to Watch Over Me and One Flew Over the Cuckoos’ Nest. Working with companies such as Mark Goucher LTD, Blue Eagle, Big Telly, Cahoots NI, Ulster Theatre Company, Centre Stage Theatre Company, Millenium Forum, Rawlife, Write Stuff and Royal Exchange Manchester.
