Having been discouraged by family and careers advisors from studying drama, Susie completed a BA in French at Hull University, but following her performance in a play with the Humberside youth theatre, was encouraged to apply to theatre companies by the award winning director of Hull Truck Theatre Company.

She recieved her equity card with the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, where she worked in TIE and the Main House and Studio, before returning to Belfast to work with Stage 80 theatre company.

Her plan was to stay for six months and then return to England. However love had other plans, and she met her husband and settled in her native Belfast.

She has a wide variety of experience in theatre, radio, TV and film, and also spent two years as a newsreader and presenter for BBC radio Ulster.
